A Broski Project Journey in Bali Lovina
During our trip to Lovina, Bali, as part of the Broski Project, I had the incredible opportunity to work with local children—helping them learn English, play sports, and practice basic first aid. Our English lessons were centered on practical conversation, keeping the learning fun and directly relevant to their daily lives. Seeing the kids engage, eager to communicate and ask questions, was a true highlight.
Sports activities quickly became a favorite. We began each session with stretches to get their muscles warmed up, followed by games that sparked teamwork and pure joy. The laughter and high-fives shared over these simple games created a bond that felt stronger than words.
We also introduced essential first aid skills, guiding them on handling minor injuries and caring for one another. Their attentiveness and eagerness to learn these skills were inspiring—a reminder of how much these young minds care for their friends and community.
Amidst these experiences, Lovina’s natural beauty was a constant backdrop, with its serene beaches and breathtaking sunsets that framed each day perfectly. Spending time in such a charming community was a heartwarming reminder of life’s simple joys. The warmth, curiosity, and kindness of the people we met made each day feel like a celebration.
However, we couldn’t ignore some of the challenges faced by the schools. Basic resources for maintaining cleanliness were limited—bins were scarce, and there was nowhere for kids to put their rubbish. The clutter in these learning spaces seemed out of place, masking the bright energy of the children and the care shown by their teachers.
Seeing this inspired us to take action in whatever way we could. We started reaching out to local organizations to learn about existing efforts and see how we might lend our support. Whether it’s through resources, awareness, or hands-on help, our goal is to make a positive impact, even if it's just in small, meaningful ways.
Remember, Broski, we may not be able to change the whole world on our own, but together we can make a difference in the parts we see. As a collective, we can achieve more than just a little.
